voting blue
i'm planning to wake up early and line up to vote before the polls open. maybe in my pajamas. i'm really looking forward to voting:

1. Obama for President
2. NO on prop 1.

(A YES VOTE would reduce the state personal income tax rate to 2.65% for the tax year beginning on January 1, 2009, and would eliminate the tax for all tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2010. A NO VOTE would make no change in state income tax laws.)

What about question 2? (and question 3, but that one's not as important to me)

I am definitely voting YES on 2.
(A YES VOTE would replace the criminal penalties for possession of one ounce or less of marijuana with a new system of civil penalties.)

I'm very very likely voting YES on 3.
(A YES VOTE would prohibit dog races on which betting or wagering occurs, effective January 1, 2010.)

At least there's something we agree on politically. :) Removing criminal penalties for marijuana use will lower government costs for jails and free up police resources to target actual crimes. I'm in favor of complete legalization of all drugs, but I can understand people's arguments against that. Arguments against marijuana make no sense to me. Marijuana is far less dangerous than alcohol.
